here I’ve written four novels: Lemprière’s Dictionary (1991), The Pope’s Rhinoceros (1996), and In the Shape of a Boar (2000). John Saturnall’s Feast is the latest, published in September 2012 by Bloomsbury in the UK, and by Grove Atlantic in the US.follow link
http://nyparanormalsociety.com/team.html All four are works of historical fiction. Beyond that they are united only by my conviction that every book is a collaboration with the people that I imagine turning the pages. What do they want? What do they think and feel? Readers aren’t just consumers. Apart from anything else, they are all the kind of people who read books. I’m one myself; every writer is a reader first. I’ve written elsewhere on this site how I started out and a little on how I continued. Each of my books has been written by a different method from the last. Each has been a kind of happy accident. But underlying them all is the idea of a dialogue with their readers.
